DANNY DE JONG

STAGE MANAGER/ ASST. STAGE MANAGER

Hello There!

My name is Danny; I am from beautiful southern California, where I grew up 45 minutes from Los Angeles and spent most of my weekends roaming around Disneyland. I was spellbound by the worlds that opened before my eyes at these titans of entertainment and the power these spaces had to unite and impact those around me. That moment when I saw that famous chandelier fall to the time I created a brief moment of Disney magic while in line for Peter Pan by lighting up a Tinkerbell for a little girl who believed she had woken her up. These moments and many others inspired me to focus on gaining the skills and knowledge to help create these moments for the rest of my life. By the time I graduated high school, I had the pleasure of working on thirty-four productions at different community & professional theatres around Chino and & Orange County.

I went on to receive my Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in stage management from Oklahoma City University (OCU). At OCU, I worked on seventeen productions as either an assistant stage manager or production stage manager, with some being on campus and others with professional partners such as the Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma and OKC Ballet. Additionally, I had the opportunity to intern with a local event production company, Factor 110. My time at OCU gave me a solid foundation of technical skills and knowledge of the various technical departments while also allowing me to hone and stretch my stage management skills. Outside of work, I love to experience entertainment as an audience member, from movies, concerts, theatre, and hockey games. As an extroverted introvert, I love to hang out with my friends and family, discussing the newest piece of media we watched and our thoughts on it.

Above all, I want to use entertainment to show the importance of compassion for all and provide a release and catharsis from Heartache.
